The Clinton County Archives maintains old divorce records, lawsuits, criminal records, guardianship, and probate. Archives also stores marriage
application books from 1882 through 1905. There were no marriage applications before January 1882. All other legal records, Wills and Marriage
Licenses would have to be obtained from the County Clerk´s Office. All land deeds and descriptions are located in the Recorder´s Office.
Our local library is another great source of information. It is located at 208 W. Clinton St. in Frankfort. When the courthouse was remodeled in
2000 all the old records dating back to 1830 were brought to the library to be indexed and stored. You may access these records by logging on to
www.accs.net/fcpl or by calling the Genealogy Department at 765-654-8747.
If you are searching for information from Archives and cannot visit during normal business hours you may write, call and leave message, or email
and I will be happy to assist you in any way.
